Why is Infrared Sauna better than traditional hot sauna?

The main difference between infrared saunas and traditional saunas is how they use heat. Traditional saunas use a single heater to heat the air, and this air heats the user.  In contrast, infrared saunas use advanced therapy to promote heat generation within the body, with only a small percentage of the heat affecting the air. This results in a deeper sweat and at a lower ambient air temperature.

Infrared heaters warm the body in the same manner as natural sunlight, which include wavelengths of the visible and non-visible light spectrum. This is the light that heats the body normally.

In an infrared sauna, only 20 percent of the overall energy is used to heat the air, leaving the rest of the energy to heat the body. The radiant heat can penetrate deep below the skin producing a gentle warming effect. Users get all of the relaxation benefits of a traditional infrared sauna, along with the increased health benefits that infrared offers, all at a noticeably more comfortable temperature. 

Infrared saunas are also dry saunas, many users find that this reason alone makes for a more comfortable sauna session. Sessions typically range from 20 to 45 minutes and can be repeated once or twice during the day to maximize benefits.
